The launch of Brighton StressBusters programme at the Hanover Centre last Friday was everything we could have hoped for! We moved our chi, played, laughed and were lulled into a hypnotic trance… tackling stress from several different angles.
This was the perfect way to demonstrate the diversity of our community wellbeing programme and illustrate the main idea behind StressBusters: there are so many ways to achieve the same effect (manage stress) and it’s all about exploring different approaches to discover the tools that work best for YOU. And we certainly gave Qigong, Laughter Yoga and Cognitive Hypnotherapy a go last night! Big thanks to Em Burnett, Emma Hiwaizi and Jo Alderson for sharing their professional passion and skill.
And just as Hove StressBusters programme isn’t what we imagined it would be when we first started in 2011 – it kind of developed a life of its own from very early on – so we have absolutely no idea what Brighton StressBusters are going to be like! It’s up to the members of the local community to help us create it, imbue it with a soul, a unique vibe…
The only thing we do know is that StressBusters will continue providing the widest possible coverage of wellbeing-related topics and approaches, enabling everyone to discover the most effective ways to manage their stress, improve their health and further their emotional and spiritual development. It’s a place where like-minded people can meet, share their views, knowledge, experience or professional passion, feed their curiosity and simply have fun. The programme is also there to enable wellbeing practitioners to learn from and support each other.
